बहुत जिज्ञासा होती है आखिर ये पितृदोष है क्या? पितृ - दोष शांति के सरल उपाय क्या है? आपकी जिज्ञासा को शांत करने हेतु यह आलेख प्रस्तुत किया है । हमारे जन्म के साथ ही हमारे ऊपर तीन ऋण होते हैं -
देव ऋण
पितृ ऋण
ऋषि ऋण
पितृ गण हमारे पूर्वज हैं जिनके हम सदैव ऋण होते है, क्योंकि हमारे जीवन में उनके किये गए अनेकों उपकार होते है। अतः पितृऋण से मुक्त होने के लिये सदैव प्रयासरत होना आवश्यक है। मनुष्य लोक से ऊपर पितृ लोक है, पितृ लोक के ऊपर सूर्य लोक है एवं इस से भी ऊपर स्वर्ग लोक है।
आत्मा जब अपने शरीर को त्याग कर सबसे पहले ऊपर उठती है तो वह पितृ लोक में जाती है, वहाँ हमारे पूर्वज मिलते हैं अगर उस मृत के अच्छे पुण्य हैं तो ये हमारे पूर्वज भी उसको प्रणाम कर अपने को धन्य मानते हैं की इस अमुक पुत्र पौत्र ने हमारे कुल में जन्म लेकर हमें धन्य किया इसके आगे वे अपने पुण्य के आधार पर सूर्य लोक की तरफ बढती है।
बहुत कम ही ऐसे जीव आत्मा होते है जो अपने पुण्य के प्रभाव से स्वर्ग की यात्रा करते है या परमात्मा में समाहित होते है जिसे दोबारा जन्म नहीं लेना पड़ता। मनुष्य लोक एवं पितृ लोक में बहुत सारी जीव आत्माएं पुनः अपनी इच्छा वश, मोह वश अपने कुल में जन्म लेती हैं।
पितृ दोष क्या होता है? हमारे ये ही पूर्वज सूक्ष्म व्यापक शरीर से अपने परिवार को जब देखते हैं, और महसूस करते हैं कि हमारे परिवार के लोग ना तो हमारे प्रति श्रद्धा रखते हैं और न ही इनमें कोई भाव या स्नेह है और ना ही किसी भी शुभ अवसर पर ये हमको याद करते हैं,
ना ही अपने ऋण चुकाने का प्रयास ही करते हैं, और ना ही दान -पुण्य, तिलतर्पण, ब्राह्मण भोजन तो ये आत्माएं दुखी होकर अपने वंशजों को श्राप दे देती हैं, जिसे "पितृ- दोष" कहा जाता है।
पितृ दोष एक अदृश्य बाधा है। ये बाधा पितरों के रुष्ट होने के कारण होती है पितरों के रुष्ट होने के बहुत से कारण हो सकते हैं, हमारे आचरण से, किसी परिजन द्वारा की गयी गलती से, श्राद्ध आदि कर्म ना करने से, अंत्येष्टि कर्म आदि में हुई किसी त्रुटि के कारण भी हो सकता है।
इसके लक्षण मानसिक अवसाद, व्यापार में वृद्धि न होना, परिश्रम के अनुसार फल न मिलना, वैवाहिक जीवन में समस्याएं या संक्षिप्त में कहें तो जीवन के हर क्षेत्र में व्यक्ति और उसके परिवार को बाधाओं का सामना करना पड़ता है। पितृ दोष होने पर अनुकूल ग्रहों की स्थिति, गोचर, दशाएं होने पर भी शुभ फल नहीं मिल पाते, कितनी भी पाठ, देव अर्चना की जाए, उसका शुभ फल नहीं मिल पाता। पितृ दोष दो प्रकार से प्रभावित करता है -

अधोगति वाले पितरों के दोषों का मुख्य कारण परिजनों द्वारा किया गया गलत आचरण, अतृप्त इच्छाएं, सम्पति के प्रति मोह और उसका गलत लोगों द्वारा उपभोग होने पर,
विवाह आदि में परिजनों द्वारा गलत निर्णय। परिवार के किसी प्रियजन को अकारण कष्ट देने पर पितर क्रुद्ध हो जाते हैं, परिवार जनों को श्राप दे देते हैं और अपनी शक्ति से नकारात्मक फल प्रदान करते हैं।
उर्ध्व गति वाले पितर सामान्यतः पितृदोष उत्पन्न नहीं करते, परन्तु उनका किसी भी रूप में अपमान होने पर अथवा परिवार के पारंपरिक रीति-रिवाजों का उचित निर्वहन नहीं करने पर वह पितृदोष उत्पन्न करते हैं।
इनके द्वारा उत्पन्न पितृदोष से व्यक्ति की भौतिक एवं आध्यात्मिक उन्नति बाधित हो जाती है, फिर चाहे कितने भी प्रयास क्यों ना किये जाएँ, कितने भी पूजा पाठ क्यों ना किये जाएँ, उनका कोई भी कार्य ये पितृ सफल नहीं होने देते।
पितृ दोष निवारण के लिए सबसे पहले यह जानना ज़रूरी होता है कि किस गृह के कारण और किस प्रकार का पितृ दोष उत्पन्न हो रहा है ? जन्म पत्रिका और पितृ दोष जन्म पत्रिका में लग्न, पंचम, अष्टम और द्वादश भाव से पितृदोष का विचार किया जाता है।
पितृ दोष में ग्रहों में मुख्य रूप से सूर्य, चन्द्रमा, गुरु, शनि, और राहू - केतु की स्थितियों से पितृ दोष का विचार किया जाता है। इनमें से भी गुरु, शनि और राहु की भूमिका प्रत्येक पितृ दोष में महत्वपूर्ण होती है इनमें सूर्य से पिता या पितामह, चन्द्रमा से माता या मातामह, मंगल से भ्राता या भगिनी और शुक्र से पत्नी का विचार किया जाता है।
अधिकाँश लोगों की जन्म पत्रिका में मुख्य रूप से क्योंकि गुरु, शनि और राहु से पीड़ित होने पर ही पितृ दोष उत्पन्न होता है।

Pitra Gan are our ancestors to whom we are always indebted, because they have done many favours in our lives. Therefore, it is necessary to always strive to be free from Pitra Rin. Pitra Lok is above the human world, Surya Lok is above Pitra Lok and above this is Swarga Lok.
When the soul rises up after leaving its body, it goes to Pitra Lok, there it meets our ancestors, if the dead person has good deeds, then our ancestors also bow to him and consider themselves blessed that this so-and-so son-grandson has blessed us by taking birth in our family, after this, it moves towards Surya Lok on the basis of its virtue. Very few living souls travel to heaven or merge with the Almighty due to the effect of their good deeds and do not have to take birth again. In the human world and the ancestral world, many living souls take birth again in their own clan due to their desire and attachment.
What is Pitra Dosh? When these ancestors of ours see their family in their subtle body, and feel that the people of our family neither have faith in us nor do they have any feelings or affection, nor do they remember us on any auspicious occasion, nor do they try to repay their debt, nor do they do charity, Til Tarpan, or feed Brahmins, then these souls become sad and curse their descendants, which is called "Pitra Dosh".
Pitra Dosh is an invisible obstacle. These obstacles are caused due to the anger of ancestors. There can be many reasons for the anger of ancestors, it can also be due to our conduct, mistake done by a family member, not performing rituals like Shraddha, any mistake done in funeral rituals etc.
Its symptoms are mental depression, no growth in business, not getting results according to hard work, problems in married life or in short, the person and his family have to face obstacles in every sphere of life. In case of Pitra Dosh, even in the presence of favorable planetary positions, transit, conditions, auspicious results are not obtained, no matter how many recitations, worship of Gods are done, auspicious results are not obtained. Pitra Dosh affects in two ways -

The main reason for the defects of ancestors in downward progress is wrong conduct by family members, unfulfilled desires, attachment towards wealth and its use by wrong people,
Wrong decisions by family members in marriage etc. If a loved one is unnecessarily troubled, the ancestors become angry, curse the family members and give negative results with their power.
Urgent ancestors generally do not cause Pitra Dosh, but if they are insulted in any way or if the traditional customs of the family are not followed properly, they cause Pitra Dosh.
The Pitra Dosh caused by them hinders the physical and spiritual progress of a person, then no matter how many efforts are made, no matter how many prayers are performed, these ancestors do not let any of their work succeed.
For the removal of Pitra Dosh, it is first necessary to know which planet is causing what kind of Pitra Dosh? In the birth chart and Pitra Dosh, Pitra Dosh is considered from the ascendant, fifth, eighth and twelfth house.
In Pitra Dosh, Pitra Dosh is considered from the positions of the planets mainly Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, and Rahu - Ketu. Out of these, the role of Guru, Shani and Rahu is important in every Pitra Dosh.
